UAE: What payment methods can I use?

You can pay for your Taptap Send transfers from the UAE in three ways: by connecting your bank account directly, by using a debit or salary card, or from your Taptap Send AED wallet.

Use a debit card or salary card (Visa / Mastercard)

To add a card, follow the instructions here: How to add a payment card

For a full list of accepted card types, see: What cards can I use with Taptap Send?

Taptap Send does not charge any fees for card payments. However, some salary card issuers may apply their own transaction fee. Check with your card issuer to confirm.

Mashreq Bank users: when you add your Mashreq card to Taptap Send, a temporary hold of AED 3 may appear on your account. This is removed automatically shortly after.

Why am I not receiving an OTP for all transactions?

Whether an OTP is required depends entirely on your bank's security settings, not on Taptap Send. If you have concerns about OTP behaviour on your account, contact your bank directly to review your settings.

Connect your bank account

We work with more than 10 UAE banks. Connecting your bank account is free and takes just a few minutes.

We use Lean, a secure third-party platform, to link your bank account. Taptap Send does not have access to your banking credentials or account details.

Note: Taptap Send does not charge any fees for bank transfers, but some banks may apply their own fee for outgoing remittances. Check with your bank to confirm.
Important: never send a transfer directly to Taptap Send from your bank account. To send money to your recipient, always use the Taptap Send app. If you accidentally send money to Taptap Send directly, contact your bank and ask them to send us a recall request, we will refund you immediately.

For step-by-step instructions by bank, see: How do I link my UAE bank account?

Use your Taptap Send wallet

UAE customers have access to a Taptap Send AED wallet. Once your wallet is loaded, you can use your balance to pay for transfers directly in the app.

To load your wallet, go to the Wallet screen and follow the steps to add funds via card or bank transfer. If your wallet balance is AED 0.00 when you try to send, the app will prompt you to load it first.

Note: the wallet is only offered in AED only.
