Having trouble adding a card to Taptap Send?

If your card isn't going through when you try to add it or make a payment, here are the steps to fix it.

Step 1: Check it's a supported card type

We accept most Visa and Mastercard debit, credit and pre-paid cards, depending on your country. See What cards can I use with Taptap Send? for the full list. We don't accept:

  • American Express
  • Maestro (in the UK)
  • Corporate cards (in Canada, the UAE, and Australia)
  • Credit cards (in the USA, Canada, UAE, and Australia)
  • Pre-paid cards (in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand)

Step 2: Check your bank's settings

Some banks block online or international payments by default. To fix this:

  • Log in to your banking app and check if online or international payments are enabled
  • Call your bank and ask them to allow your card to be used with Taptap Send
  • Check your card hasn't expired

Step 3: Try again

If the first attempt failed, go back to Taptap Send and try again. Each new attempt generates a fresh verification request from your bank.

If your card isn't working, check the payment options when sending a transfer. Alternatives may be available depending on where you're sending from.
