Cancelling a transfer or requesting a refund

If your transfer has already been delivered, recalling the funds can be difficult and take time. It is sometimes easier for you to resolve this directly with the recipient who received your funds. Contact our support team through the app and we will look into what options are available for your transfer. If no options exist, we will let you know.

For your recipient

Does my recipient need to do anything?

For both bank transfers and UPI transfers, your recipient does not need to take any action. Funds arrive automatically into their bank account.

What details does my recipient need to provide?

Bank transfer: full name, bank name, account number, and IFSC code.

UPI transfer: UPI ID (this has the format username@bank, for example name@okhdfcbank)

How does my recipient cash out?

Here is what your recipient may need to do depending on how you sent the money.

For bank transfers, funds are deposited directly into your recipient's bank account. No action is needed on their end.

If your recipient needs to find their IFSC code, they can do so in several ways:

  • Cheque book: The 11-digit IFSC code appears in the top left corner of a cheque leaf, alongside the full branch address
  • Passbook: The front page of the passbook lists account and branch details, including the IFSC code
  • RBI website: Recipients can look up their IFSC code on the Reserve Bank of India's website by selecting their bank and branch from the drop-down menu
  • Bank website: Most banks offer a Branch Locator tool on their official website where recipients can find their branch's IFSC code

For UPI transfers, funds are credited directly to the bank account linked to your recipient's UPI ID. No action is needed on their end.

If your recipient is not sure what their UPI ID is, they can find it in their mobile banking app by following these steps:

  • Open the app and go to the "My Profile" section.
  • The UPI ID will be displayed there. It typically follows the format name@bankname.
  • Recipients can also change their UPI ID to a custom name from within the app
