How can I send money to Egypt?

Cancelling a transfer or requesting a refund

If your transfer has already been delivered, recalling the funds can be difficult and take time. It is sometimes easier for you to resolve this directly with the recipient who received your funds. Contact our support team through the app and we will look into what options are available for your transfer. If no options exist, we will let you know.

What details does my recipient need to provide?

Bank transfer

Your recipient will need to share: their full name in Egyptian Arabic (4 names), their bank name, and their IBAN.

Mobile wallet

Your recipient will need to share their Egyptian phone number registered to the wallet.

Cash pickup (FawryPlus or ADIB)

Your recipient will need to share: their full name, their relationship to the sender, and a valid government-issued ID.

Note: the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) requires proof of relationship between the sender and recipient; this must be a family or business relationship.

How can your recipient collect the money?

Cash is usually available within a few minutes to a few hours after the transfer is confirmed. You will see the estimated time in the app before you send.

FawryPlus (EGP only)

Your recipient can collect at any FawryPlus location across Egypt. Collection hours are 9am–10pm. They will need to provide the transaction reference number, their National ID, and proof of their relationship to you.

To collect, your recipient should use service code 73157 at the FawryPlus terminal.

ADIB (EGP or USD)

Your recipient can collect at any ADIB branch. Collection hours are Sunday to Thursday, 8:30am–5pm. They will need to provide the transaction reference number, their National ID, and proof of their relationship to you.

Your recipient can find their nearest collection point through the ADIB or FawryPlus websites or apps.

Non-Egyptian citizens can only collect via ADIB.

Cash pickup transfers cannot be cancelled once the money is ready for collection.

Transfers not collected within 30 days will be automatically refunded to you.
