Can I cancel my transfer or get a refund?

If your transfer has already been delivered, recalling the funds can be difficult and take time. It is sometimes easier to resolve this directly with the recipient. Contact our support team through the app and we will look into what options are available. You can also refer to our global article Can I cancel or get a refund for my transfer?

For your recipient

Does my recipient need to do anything?

No, your recipient doesn't need to do anything. Funds are sent directly to their bank account.

What details does my recipient need to provide?

You'll need your recipient's:

  • Full legal name, exactly as registered with their bank
  • Bank name
  • IBAN

You'll also need to select their ID type and enter the matching ID number. Costa Rica has three ID types, each with its own format:

  • Cédula de Identidad (for example, 102340567)
  • Cédula Jurídica (for example, 3101234567)
  • Cédula de Residencia (for example, 155812345678)

Please make sure the currency you select for the transfer, CRC or USD, matches the actual currency of your recipient's bank account, not just the currency you'd prefer to send in. Sending in the wrong currency for their account type is currently the most common reason transfers to Costa Rica fail.

How does my recipient cash out?

Funds are credited directly to your recipient's bank account.
