Bank transfer: No action needed. Money is deposited directly into their account once the transfer is processed.

Airtel Money and MTN Mobile Money: No action needed. Funds are credited directly to their mobile wallet.

What details does my recipient need to provide?

Bank transfer: Their bank name and account number or IBAN. Using an IBAN can help the transfer process faster.

Airtel Money: Their Airtel phone number.

MTN Mobile Money: Their MTN phone number.

How does my recipient cash out?

Bank transfer: Funds appear directly in their Rwandan bank account.

Airtel Money: Funds are available in their Airtel Money wallet immediately and can be used for payments, sent on to others, or withdrawn as cash at an Airtel Money agent or kiosk. They'll need their phone and a valid ID to withdraw cash.

MTN Mobile Money: Funds are available in their MTN MoMo wallet immediately and can be used for payments, sent on to others, or withdrawn as cash at an MTN agent. They'll need their phone and a valid ID to withdraw cash. As a fraud prevention measure, MTN requires the recipient to confirm the withdrawal from their own registered phone before the agent can release the cash.
