What's the difference between the Lite wallet and the Taptap Send Wallet?

Taptap Send offers two wallet options in the US. Here's what each one includes.

Lite wallet

The Lite wallet lets you send money internationally. It's a quick way to get started with Taptap Send Wallet.

What's included:

  • Lock great rates in multiple currencies
  • Send money abroad
  • Fund your transfers with your wallet and get funds quickly back if your transfer cannot be delivered

What's not included:

  • No Taptap Send Card
  • No personal account number

Taptap Send Wallet (with a Taptap Send Card)

The full wallet comes with a Taptap Send Card and a personal account number.

What's included:

  • Pay locally
  • Get a Taptap Send virtual card (physical cards coming soon!)
  • Add your Taptap Send Card to Apple or Google Pay
  • Get a personal account number to receive money
  • Send money abroad or pay when you travel

To open the full wallet, you'll need to complete full identity verification in the app.

How do I know which wallet I have?

If you have a Taptap Send Card or can see an account number in the app, you have the full wallet.

Can I upgrade from a Lite wallet to the full wallet?

If you want to upgrade to a full wallet, please contact our support team so we can add you to our waiting list.

You'll need to complete identity verification, which includes a photo ID and a selfie. US citizens will also need to provide their Social Security number. Non-US citizens can use a foreign passport instead.

Is the card available to everyone?

We're rolling the Taptap Send Card out gradually. If you're eligible, you'll see the option to apply in the app.
