What happens when a transfer is refunded?

Your money is always safe. If a transfer is refunded for any reason, we return your funds to you. You will always get your money back.

Your money goes back to the same payment method you used to pay. You cannot receive the funds back to a different payment method.

How long does it take to get my funds back?

We always send the refund straight away on our end. However, how quickly the money appears depends on the payment method you used and how your bank processes the return. These timelines are set by banks and payment providers. They are outside our control and we cannot speed them up.

Payment method Typical time-frame
Card payment3–5 business days
Taptap Send walletImmediately returned to your wallet balance
Lean (UAE)3–5 business days
Klarna/Sofort (Germany)10 calendar days
Bancontact (Belgium)3–5 business days
iDEAL (Netherlands)Up to 24 hours
Open banking / Bank transferUp to 24 hours
PIX (Brazil)15 calendar days
Benefit (Bahrain)14 calendar days

If your money has not appeared after the timeframe shown above, contact us through the app and we'll look into it.

What if my payment method has expired?

If the card you used has expired, your bank should still be able to process the refund. We can share a proof of refund containing a reference number (Acquirer Reference Number, or ARN), which your bank can use to locate the funds. Contact your bank directly and they will be able to confirm the status of the refund.

If your bank account is no longer valid or has been closed, please contact us. We will investigate and arrange for the funds to be sent to an alternative payment method in your name.
