How do referral codes and promo codes work?

Invite friends to Taptap Send and earn a bonus when they send their first transfer. You can also earn rewards with promotional codes from the Taptap Send team.

How do you earn rewards?

There are two ways to earn rewards with Taptap Send:

  • Referral code: Share your unique referral code with a friend. When they sign up and complete their first transfer, you both receive a bonus.
  • Promo code: Enter a promotional code shared by the Taptap Send team to receive a reward on your transfer.

How much do you earn?

The bonus amount depends on the country you are sending from and the destination country. To see the current offer for your corridor, tap the gift icon at the bottom or top-right of the app to open the Referrals section.

Finding and sharing your referral code

You can find and share your referral code in two ways:

  • Referrals section: Tap the gift icon at the bottom of the app to open the Referrals tab. From there, you can share your code directly via WhatsApp or other messaging apps.
  • QR code: Tap the QR code icon at the top of the home screen (to the left of the gift icon). This displays a QR code your friend can scan to apply your referral code automatically when they send their first transaction.

Using a referral or promo code

Referral code: When entering the amount for your first transfer, look for the Have a referral code? field and enter the code there. You can also tap the QR code icon at the top of the home screen to scan a friend's QR code. The code must be applied before you send your first transfer.

Promo code: On the Confirm Transfer page, tap ADD PROMO CODE. A popup will appear where you can enter your code.

Important: Referral and promo codes can only be applied to your first transfer. The code must be entered before you confirm the transfer. It cannot be added afterwards. Only one code can be applied to your first transfer. If you use a promo code, a referral code cannot also be applied to the same transfer. A minimum transfer amount may apply depending on the countries involved.

How rewards are applied

Rewards are deposited automatically into your Taptap Send account. When you make a transfer, your entire reward balance is applied, increasing the amount your recipient receives without changing what you pay.

What if my first transfer fails?

If your transfer fails, your bonus is automatically recredited to your account and will be applied to your next transfer. Simply try again.

Note: If you start a new transfer immediately after a failed one, there may be a short delay before the bonus is recredited. If it does not appear on your next transfer, contact our support team through the app and we will sort it for you.

Can a referral bonus be used on a wallet transfer?

No. Referral bonuses cannot be applied to wallet transfers. Your bonus has not been lost. It will automatically be applied to your next non-wallet transfer.

When do rewards expire?

Rewards expire 90 days from the date they are deposited into your account. Any unused rewards are automatically deducted at expiry.

Can you refer more than one friend?

Yes. You can refer up to 20 friends per rolling 30-day period.
